Re: Mick & Sheila Casson
The market in Michael Casson is quite choosy, which indicates a small pool of collectors. The Salt glaze wide bellied jugs sell well, as do the tall ones. Equally the modern sgraffito bowls known as the 'swimmers' do well. But as you say Naomi, chargers tend to be less popular. Another place to look at for prices is Maak, a high end online studio pottery auction house. Just Google it.

Saltglaze lugg eared pot with illegible mark - Sheila Casson
This little saltglaze pot stands 8½cm tall. It has a maker's mark (see side-on photo), but it's unreadable. The base has three stilt marks. The other sides are pretty much the same as those shown in the photos, except for glaze variations. Any help with identifying the maker would be much appreciated.

Re: Mick & Sheila Casson
Davee's Wobage marked pots are interesting. They were only used for the first two years at Wobage, 1977-79. It was only from 1979 that he started the Stoneware and Salt glazing for which he is famed for. Very much a transition mark.

Re: Mick & Sheila Casson
I have seen several Mick Casson pieces with just the written mark. Mores than any other potter. This one looks completely kosher!

Re: Mick & Sheila Casson
Of course it is. I was thinking of Michael Carson with the crescent but knew it wasn’t his mark. Thank you.

Re: Mick & Sheila Casson
Any idea on a date? And how can I tell if it’s stoneware or porcelain?
