Re: How do you display your collection?
...so I've got some tiles in a box, nifty little collection going on, would like the Maltby tile on ebay but I don't rate him at £140.
Anyways any tips on displaying tiles?
Wall space available but not horizontal unless it's the floor.
Was thinking of buying a sheet of bevel edge toughened 8mm (10mm?) glass the size of my coffee table, sticking on an 15mm x 25mm edge trim, black felt underlay? Then sit the glass on top?
Is this tacky?
This sorta thing?

Those standard little sprung plate-hangers work ok with tiles.
Re: How do you display your collection?
Both very good points that I had not considered and are display case glass top coffee tables tacky?
Re: How do you display your collection?
Yes, coffee tables are tacky, but more to the point they attract books, magazines, bowls, coffee mugs, remote controls, etc, etc, so you can't see the ***** tiles :)

thx dan ... photographing them is a nightmare - always too much glare on the dishes ... this photo came out ok though ...
The white boxes are available from a certain Scandinavian furniture shop at low cost and are the perfect size for the 5" dishes - they have larger boxes too for the 8" plates but these are unfortunately not quite deep enough to house these plates (i daresay some of the studio plates would fit in them as these are a little flatter than the later Delphis plates)

Re: How do you display your collection?
Them boxes are good for chickens. But I have cows, stoats, weasels and the odd elephant?
Updated 'new smalls shelves' that I pass every day as it's near the front door. Highly recommended to have ceramics that you can see just before you leave the house and re-arrange. So much fun. Often spend 10 min here 'playing'

Re: How do you display your collection?
Well look at that, impressive.. need to take my shoes and socks off to calculate this lot.
I also have comments... Some of those plates look like they are about to fall! the one centre shelf left left? I hope its safe? ...You need to sell a couple of plates and buy a new sofa!

Re: How do you display your collection?
Top row, from the left wood fired chargers 3, 4, 5, 6 are they all same maker? If so why X4?
Re: How do you display your collection?
Those Top 4. From Left. Micki Schloessingk, Toff Millway, Mici Schloessingk, Lisa Hammond. We have four of the Micki bowls/chargers in graduated sizes(two showing here), and they are all different due to the nature of her wood firing. Why not 4, or 40 if you like them all? Purely personal taste.
The other end of that shelf is Mary Wondrausch.
We have never had any of those fall off. They are too high up for people to knock off.
The sofa is sooooo comfy!
