German pottery bowl
Im sure this is an easy one, lovely bright colours, and signed
4211 made in Germany, so i presume its recent or pre war,
i dont think its probably that old !

I presume you a refering to the lack of East or West? As far as I know Roth came about in the early 70's. I don't know much more, sorry, but I wouldn't have thought it was after 1990.

Thanks Davee, I would have thought it looked 70s , but the lack of a West made me think maybe not, but im a complete novice in Fat Lava, and the ones ive seen have usually had a West. But, ive only actually looked at the base of a very small number

I'm afraid that's not a reliable indicator of age - the German pottery manufacturers marked their production in a variety of ways and some used Germany without the East or West when the dividing wall was still standing. It looks like late 60s early 70s production to me just going by the glaze colours.

Yes I think you're right - I have a Roth vase with similar glazes.
