If you could find what the crest on the dish refers to, I suspect that would be useful.
If you have no luck on here, you could try the British Pottery and Porcelain discussion group on Facebook. It's a closed group so you have to be approved before you post but their knowledge of early stuff is incredible.

Re: Wedgwood of Etruria & Barlaston
As an update , thought I’d share a little bit of info I stumbled upon tonight.
Apparently the design is known as ‘Etruscan’ and dates circa 1790, apparently Dumfries House in Scotland has a large collection of it there!
It was made in 3 colour ways , red , yellow and (I think) green , with yellow being the rarest .
Obviously mine is the red variant .
So for now my research is over.

Re: Wedgwood of Etruria & Barlaston
Sure it is, but not seen that exact mark before.
May have been made for a retailer.
The inpressed mark at 1 / 2 o'clock will easily confirm it.

I believe Groups was a pattern made in several different color combinations. You can see it at replacements.com.

Next step-- appraisal ?
The teapot is in really great shape, and surprises me that it may be so old. I wonder if any members of this forum might know of a reputable appraiser/expert that I might contact for further research?? thanks

Re: Wedgwood of Etruria & Barlaston
Your best bet is to look at SOLD wedgwood pieces on Ebay. Unfortunately however, just because a piece is old, does not mean that it is valuable. Wedgwood was produced in very large quantities, and is somewhat unfashionable nowadays. There 88,000 seperate sales of Wedgwood pieces on Ebay alone.

Most unusual, I think it could be late 19thC. They did use some letters as
a date code if you can see any obvious ones.

Thank you for the reply.
There are no impressed letters from what I can see, there are two curved marks that look incised but not obviously letters.
Thanks again
Paul

Re: Wedgwood of Etruria & Barlaston
It looks like a special giftware item made for a retailer or gift shop in 1989.
I don't recognise the scene, maybe a stately home somewhere?
The red mark with the crown will be the retailers logo.

Very pretty.
Helps to have a photo of the base for reference purposes.
