not always,the glaze is very similar to one used by many Vallauris colourists

'terre rouge de vallauris' traditionally allways red clay yours seems more brown but that may be the photo

I think that is the difference between standard vallauris and WGP which has been designed as a decorative item for the home rather than just to attract passing tourists
