could be Vallauris or not

Is vallauris not always on the pieces ?

not always,the glaze is very similar to one used by many Vallauris colourists

And was red clay used very much ?

yes I have several Vallauris pieces made of red earthernware clay

'terre rouge de vallauris' traditionally allways red clay yours seems more brown but that may be the photo

Clay is as pic Paul , I think an Umlaut is next to the A

the vallauris shapes are often not designed as well as this one (in my opinion)

much of it is typical souvenir standard

I think that is the difference between standard vallauris and WGP which has been designed as a decorative item for the home rather than just to attract passing tourists
