Re: Malvern Flea & Collectors Fair
I had a GREAT day at Malvern, btw - my stall was starting to look a little empty before it was even open to the public, and it continued with this downward trend after 10am.
It's very refreshing selling at a fair to people who share my tastes - I was starting to believe that the only thing fair-goers lusted after was frilly Victoriana!
Most dealers were grumbling that there were fewer people than usual because it was too short a time after the last event, so I look forward to attending again at a fuller capacity in December (weather permitting).

Re: Malvern Flea & Collectors Fair
Oh, aye, all the pottery stuff's Mark's - we sometimes co-stall because we both deal in Danish design.
I like the idea of an outdoor pitch at the flea, but I've far too much stock that is lightweight and/or delicate enough to be knackered by a gust of wind or an unexpected downpour.
But I'll grow a mane and whiskers for next time.

Mark's the bloke you've come to Kempton with a couple of times is it Nic?
How far away from me is Malvern - I vaguely remember going to an outdoor festy/rave there in the late 80s ...
I'd quite like to go too - it looks good...

Aye, you've met him.
Malvern... it's about 150 miles from where you are - so only 30 miles closer than I am.

Re: Malvern Flea & Collectors Fair
Ed, is it worth standing Malvern next month do you think?
I remember it being a bit of a chore to get there - lots of tiny windy roads - so I don't know if the cold December weather traditionally puts a lot of folks off the trip...

Re: Malvern Flea & Collectors Fair
Nic , I think it depends on which one you attend ,the one on the 5th december is antiques fair only , i can't see too many going then , we usually give it a miss , however the 27th bank holiday is a flea as well and has indoor stalls in all the halls ,as well as the same antique people in a hall of there own and plenty punters attending , so the bank holiday would be your best bet .

Re: Malvern Flea & Collectors Fair
Ah, okeydokey - it's the 5th that I was pondering. I'll have to see if I can make it down for the 27th instead.
Cheers.
Cheers.
Re: Malvern Flea & Collectors Fair
The malvern collectables fair is on this sunday , they haven't had much snow , we don't normally go to this one but might do as I have been stuck in all this week and need to escape for the day .

Re: Malvern Flea & Collectors Fair
No , Not at all Nic , there wasn't that many buyers there today , the country roads were pretty tricky and that must have put a lot of people off , you were wise to give it a miss , as I said ,the 27th ( weather permiting) is usually a very good one , with the sheds being the main focus , the sellers in the hall you were in move into the main shed/hall on giant flea days , much more activity = more dosh -hopefully .
