Cheers Dan, I'm thinking of ruling out Tremar anyway their glaze on the raised areas always seems a bit redder than this...

Might be Bisto but there is no sign of glue as I understand that Shelf always put felt on the bottom (I am not always correct tho!)....

Cheers

Hmm, not sure after looking it up....... Shelf/Presingoll/Tremar/Tremean/Louis Hudson? 466571

Edited to add: Presingoll Pottery was formally Hudson Pottery. It is still in operation under a new owner and uses old Hudson designed molds, but they are also producing some hand made pieces too - NaomiM

Very interesting article about the links between Hudson's Trequoit Pottery, Tremar and Shelf Potteries -

http://stationstart.com/tremar-shelf/

The website is now defunct so I've copied this off the Wayback Machine's screen shot of the website:

Tremar Pottery Reference Pages – Contents Page

What is Tremar Pottery?

Roger and Doreen Birkett established Tremar Pottery in 1962. Originally Roger made the products himself, but over time the company expanded to three locations. The original hand-thrown pieces gave way pieces produced using molds. All of them sold well.

The produced small pieces for collectors including people, animals, boats, cars and buildings. They also produced larger size pieces including money boxes (piggy banks), mugs, storage containers and other pieces for service or kitchen use.

The pieces are generally marked on the bottom in at least a couple of different styles that presumably changed over time.

The company closed in 1983.

Background

Tremar Potteries of Tremar and Liskeard in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom went out of business following the explosion of a kiln in 1983.

Shelf Pottery Ltd was located more than 300 hundred miles away in Halifax just outside of Leeds in northern England. I don’t know which years Shelf Pottery was actively producing pottery pieces.

Tremar Pottery and Shelf Pottery manufactured a number of pieces that were essentially identical. Many look to me as though they could have been made from the same mold.

Some pieces were labeled Shelf Pottery Ltd, and some were labeled Shelf Concept. Maybe these different trade names used by the same company, or maybe these were two different companies.

The cat money box was purchased directly from Shelf Pottery at its Halifax store sometime in 1998 to 2000. This means that Shelf Pottery was using a design original produced by Tremar Pottery more than 15 years after Tremar stopped production.
