Roy newmans work ptp
Pear tree pottery was a business established in early 1970s by my grandad Roy Newman.It was based in firbeck lane, laughton, nr dinnington, sheffield. Roy worked as a potter for 30 years employing his son paul who worked there nearly 20 years from leaving school.The building was an old chapel which has since been converted in to private residence.In the pottery itself there were around six kilns and a potters wheel,also an extensive display of the wide variety of pottery Roy and Paul made.They would also have visits where they would show people how to make pots and let them have a go and a giggle.They also designed and made plates for sunk collierys,anniversarys,weddings and churches ect...The pottery stopped trading in the mid 90s when Roy retired.The P T P is the trademark of there work.Hope you find this usefull Richard...

So idiot here put the wrong 1st pic in. Good shot for size comparison though.
So, try again....
S'easy, this upload lark.....the bad news is that you're all about to get a shed-load of my 'unidentifieds' (and a few pieces that I particularly like)!

@ Pear Tree Pottery (Richard)
On the wall behind the lamp in this picture...
......is a print of assorted pots. I was just wondering if they had any connection to your Granddad's studio?
Also, do you know which pots are by your Granddad and which are by his son (your Uncle, I assume)?

Sorry about the poor light; trust it to throw down the minute I got the camera out.
My favourite PTP piece (honest, it's not as dull as the lighting makes it appear);

Studio pot with DP mark - id?
I've seen a couple of pots with this mark but I still haven't been able to identify the maker. Anyone recognise it?
