Does anyone know the maker of this art noveau/arts and crafts vase
I thought this may have been McCoy only because I have some McCoy plant pots with a similar design but others have told me it's not? Anyone have a clue? Thanks

not sure what you mean about sticking to the kiln. I definitely don't know about different clays either. I have been collecting roseville for a few years and just recently bought a few pieces of weller but liked this vase when I was up in Brimfield this past saturday. The dealer thought it was McCoy too.

Re: Does anyone know the maker of this art noveau/arts and crafts vase
If it is American art pottery, i would also tend towards McCoy as what from i've seen, others like Grueby or Fulper tended to have more matt glazes and certainly not this dripped, multi coloured effect. If however it's a european export, i would tend towards belgium or Germany rather than British. But that's only a hunch.
Re: Does anyone know the maker of this art noveau/arts and crafts vase
I originally thought this was probably McCoy also, but it occurred to me that Roseville also produced a similar glaze--so I looked them both up. It appears that the McCoy design work was somewhat less sophisticated, which leads me to believe what you have here is an early Roseville pot (Blended line), and IMO Roseville beats McCoy anyday! My book doesn't have this exact design, but it shows a design with enough Art Nuveau stylistic similarity that I would say it would be worth your while to do a little more research on this piece--I think you may have a winner....

P.S.
I also noted that in the Roseville book, the examples shown of the "Blended" line were all listed as "unmarked" or bearing paper labels (which were most often removed or lost). I'm curious as to the size of your piece--it appears fairly large--I'm guessing about 20 inches tall (?). The pieces I saw were all listed as umbrella stands or large jardenaires with pedestals and were in that size range. Even though my book is fairly old, the price range listed was (IMO) high (though in the past several years, Roseville has fluctuated in popularity which is reflected in current valuation). Cheers.

Thanks for all your help! My piece is only 8.5 inches tall.
