Re: another mystery pot (vase)
dantheman, your eyes are just fine. I tried and tried but just couldn't get it any sharper.
I thought it looked like NH joined together but it could be so many other things and I don't know enough about particular potter's styles to try and trace it that way either.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: another mystery pot (vase)
Yep, you certainly can. I'll go get the camera and try to do a better job of it. It could take a little time.....

Re: another mystery pot (vase)
It's the glaze that's causing me the photo problems. No matter what light I put it in or what background it's against the camera just won't focus. But here's a few more...
It stands about 12cm high, about 10cm at its widest point. It feels beautiful to hold with a smooth, metallic looking glaze that goes from very dark black/brown merging into a deep pink with patches of the light grey clay colour showing through in places. There are no marks to the base, only the signature shown in the first picture of the original post.
It's got a chip to the rim which is a terrible shame, but that's maybe why it ended up at a junk sale and I got to find it.

Re: another mystery pot (vase)
from the pics it looks like stoneware clay and Tenmoku glaze slowly cooled

Re: another mystery pot (vase)
after a year I'm wondering why I thought it was Tenmoku
would someone tell us how it was fired/glazed as it just looks like wood fired to me now
