Re: Ceramano - help needed
I know this wall plaque is by Ceramano, and is in the "Urania" decor, but other than that I have very little information about it. I love it though. I haven't seen any other examples of this decor in a wall plaque -- does anyone know if this is a particularly rare piece? (Or not?) Any information would be appreciated. It's approx. 11 1/2" square.

Re: Ceramano - help needed
I've done enough research to know that this pair of bowl/dish shapes is by Ceramano, and are in the "Ceralux" decor, but I haven't run across this shape before. I also have one of the smaller bowls in red, along with a couple of smaller vases. I think the blue glaze on these two is particularly nice though -- I have a blue vase in the same color and the glaze is just not the same. Any additional information would be very welcome. One of the bowls is marked as shape 108 and the other is 109.

The wall piece is really great. I wonder if I detect a signature in the lower right corner? It looks like (from the photo) that there may be a "B" followed by some other letters (?)

, This design is featured in deutsche keramiks by michael thomas on page 111, form no.61 two pieces are featured with exact same size and design as yours but with different glazes, they have the decorators initials to each individual piece .Modine wrote:I know this wall plaque is by Ceramano, and is in the "Urania" decor, but other than that I have very little information about it. Calusa, the B is just part of the decor , a circle with glaze running over .

Re: Ceramano - help needed
Thanks so much for all of the great information everyone. On the wall plaque, at the very bottom on the back is the letter "L". Is that the decorator's initial?

Re: Ceramano - help needed
I would say it probably is , quite a few of them have decorators initials, although I would have no way of knowing who they were.
