Yes Typical Longpark kingfisher. 1896 is probably the shape code.

The pottery was started by a group of Aller Vale Pottery employees who fell out with the company and so the items were quite similar.
These included Robert H. Skinner and Frederick H. Blackler, who were there during the period that DD mentions. Other names of potters linked that I have seen are G W Bond, G H Causey, W J Skinner and Herbert Bulley.
