Alan Ward, Whitstable Pottery, Derbyshire

Very unusual, no, not seen any animals by him. Very little is known about him despite his long potting career.

Weird sculptural wave unfortunately half of the signature has been disfigured due to the glaze.. any ideas?

I have just seen a few vases by Alan Ward that look very very similar...

Found this really nice hand thrown ribbed vase with what looks to be an 'AW' impressed mark. Is this Alan Ward? Any thoughts H: 5". Thanks

I think so. Looks like the right glaze and style

It's a nice looking piece! All the Alan Ward pieces I have seen were his incised full signature. I didn't know he had a stamp...but what do I know.

Apart fron the full name, he did use at least 2 impressed seal marks.
I'm not sure on this one, those loops at each side look odd, W is not right,
It almost reads CLAD...

An 8 in asymetric footed dish, almost a salt-glazed feel to the underside.

Picked this up today at a local charity shop. Biggest piece of Alan Ward I've ever owned.

28cm or 11 inches in old money to edge of the rim. Perfect condition too. Not bad for three quid!
