I love this vase and the glaze. Got a lovely smooth feel and inscribed pattern. Nice and tactile. Vase stands about 12 inches tall and about 5 inches across.

Yes, this looks very much like Purbeck stoneware. Also, Purbeck sometimes used sticky labels and unless my eyes deceive me there is the outline of a label on the base.

I met Eddie a couple of times when he was at Poole before the last time they went bust, when unfortunately he lost his job. He is a nice guy. He had been at Poole before when he was apprentice to Guy Sydenham and later taught Alan White to throw. A good vase, even if not what you thought!
