Re: Richard Uhlemeyer
hi peter,
I'm sorry but are you absolutely sure it's not a paul dressler grootenburg? normaly the bigger uhlemeyer vases show the double horsehead mark...or the impressed germany or both....
and other studios are known who did copper reduction glazed items...
it could be uhlemeyer for sure... but I'm not absolutely sure

Re: Richard Uhlemeyer
I believe they both worked together at one time , the grootenburg pieces I have seen never had a base stand rim , this one has and is it possible uhlemeyeher mark is on the rim , I can just about make out numbering on the base near the top also.

Re: Richard Uhlemeyer
Hi Sven,
They did work together until c1939 and Uhlemeyer did not always mark his own studio work on the base rim. It would be interesting to confirm if Gootenburg/Dressler produced pieces with this color of clay and similar rims.

dresler did not always mark his own studio work on center of the base either... and I've seen some grooteburg pieces with base stand rim....
normally the dresler items are a little heavier at the same size....

Re: Richard Uhlemeyer
never seen this glazes before.... prototypes?
one of the blue ones is signed with the written uhlemeyer.
the second with a number which might point into direction it's a glaze experiment thought?
and the last one looks like an early one.... beside this one they're all handthrown not moulded...
several with the paperlabel dated 1954.... might be the date of purchase?
two damaged ones at toms place.... he might add a picture the bigger one with a different glaze than the normal copper reduction and a grey spotted one...
