Frustrated searched everywhere for this and to no avail.  Can anyone help please?
The mark is very clear but I can't find it annoyingly.

Had a trawl through my book but nothing.  Looks too good for a student piece although I am probably wrong?

Sim Wood, Trevillador Pottery, Cornwall Empty Sim Wood (not Jim Wood)

Post by Essenjay Sun Feb 18, 2018 5:47 pm

Bought this vase and a sweet little miniature teapot today, both with this impressed mark which looks a like a cross between Simon Rich's mark and a £ sign. I know I've seen it before but can't remember where.

I believe this is by Sim Wood. (Uses a mark very similar to Stuart Walsh)

Hmm, just an observation - there are few enough online references to Trevillador Pottery as it is but the ones that I can find refer to Sim not Jim Wood. The only place that mentions Jim is on this forum. Looking at the mark, it looks much more like SW than JW, particularly when - ahem - it's the right way up.

I believe Naomi found a piece with a sticker? I only remember this from the FB mystery pots page, so I may be wrong.

Sim rather than Jim does make a lot more sense to be honest!

Label is inconclusive

No Sim or Jim Wood in the Marks book. Might be Sim short for Simon?

Definitely Sim Wood - just found a complete label on an eBay listing that ran out in March.
