Salt Glazed Vase, Westerwald?
Handled vase with scraffito decoration and salt glaze. I'm presuming its from the Westerwald region? Marked the base with Handerbielt(handmade) and some other marks. Would the 80 be the year or pattern. Any help much appreciated.

certainly made in the Westerwald style Dave although other regions nicked that style,I have a piece from the Pfalz region for example.
it's a studio piece so there's no pattern number,I think you may be correct with your 1980 theory

Thanks Dan, Ed. The incised word begins with an A Ed, it looks like Aust or something similar.

Re: Salt Glazed Vase, Westerwald?
the pattern has a art noveau feeling to me. The word with A reads Anno (in the sence of Anno Domini). So it is made in 1980. The H mark leads probably to the maker.
