Re: Brand new fair Grantham Lincolnshire
I'm trying to get to this fair, but my usual transport will be in London doing Ally Pally (with which it clashes this time). I'd much rather stall locally than travel down at silly-a.m. the day before for some fair at the other end of the country.
Re: Brand new fair Grantham Lincolnshire
are there no other antique collectors in your town? I would think they'd welcome an offer to share petrol costs

None that I know of.
May see how many boxes can be squeezed into the back of the OH's tiny car.

Re: Brand new fair Grantham Lincolnshire
I've not heard good things about trying to sell.... well, anything.... at Grimsthorpe. Bit of an uphill battle, apparently.

Re: Brand new fair Grantham Lincolnshire
It looks as if I shall be going to look and, hopefully buy, as I will be up that way visiting my mother over the weekend.
So get stalling out chaps, as I will be taking £20 with me and hope to have little left whan I leave!!!!

Re: Brand new fair Grantham Lincolnshire
The fair was held in a lovely village with a lovely pub.
Naturally it was quite a small affair (about 200 stalls) but the goods for sale were interesting (to me) so I enjoyed my visit and would go again

Re: Brand new fair Grantham Lincolnshire
Couldn't be any worse than Ally Pally, which was a bit of a snoozer.
Seems half of London buggered off for the weekend to escape this wedding nonsense - the roads were very much dead on the Sat night between Ally Pally & Heathrow!

Re: Brand new fair Grantham Lincolnshire
I did go and agree with DantheMan. I did spend some money there too, but nothing too exciting.

Re: Brand new fair Grantham Lincolnshire
the second ever Grantham antiques fair which was due to be held on the 22nd and 23rd of October has been cancelled, not the best of starts for a new fair

Re: Brand new fair Grantham Lincolnshire
I went to the Grantham fair today,it was the worst turnout I have ever experienced and many of the traders lost money on both days of the fair
