Clive Brooker
Clive Brooker who works out of Middx has been potting since 1956, this is a particularly nice example of his work

Re: Clive Brooker
Found this piece recently, seems to use interesting technique with glazed interior and sandy finished exterior. Does anyone know anymore about him?

Re: Clive Brooker
I did meet him around 8 years ago when he brought his son, who was on the Ceramics course at Westminster University, to see me.
So he is still around but I am not too sure if he is still making pots. He did tell me that he had a contract for a number of years with a Japanese department store to supply them with Ikebana vases (for Japanese flower arranging) and at some other point made miniature ceramics for doll's houses. Therefore he hasn't really exhibited pots for many years but has got by using his skills.
I did ask about the turquoise glaze on the inside of many of his pots and he said he has been influences by the colour of the sea in the Caribbean.

Re: Clive Brooker
I think that he told me that he began using the turquoise glaze in the mid 1960s.

Re: Clive Brooker
As others have said the interior glaze is attractive - opening this pot & finding an almost luminous interior always fascinates (as does the grotesque "face" on the outside)!
