Re: Simon Leaper
I would guess that they not only sold their own work in the shop hence the label.
'earlier today I asked the owner of the website for his input'
and what did he say?

Re: Simon Leaper
he hasn't replied to my email yet but I bet they sold Leaper pottery at their Penzance shop, the only thing that doesn't make sense to me is the date, surely Simon was very young in 1965?

Didn't I just say that
As it appears to be a shop label, its not beyond imagination that they carried on using it up untill the early 80's, even though they had moved their retail side to The Sloop Craft Market.

Re: Simon Leaper
I got a reply to my email
When Peter Ellery opened his shop in Penzance it was run by Sue Ellery
his neice. She showed me some photographs of the inside of the shop. You
can see clearly that they sold Tremaen alongside a wide range of other
pieces from Potteries in the West Penwith area. The shop was called
Tremaen hence the paper label. I really only denotes that the tray was
purchased from the shop
