I can't make up my mind - do you think this is this a head or a hedgehog? It's really cute.  Do you recognise the signature?  It looks like lower case r and lower case c but there's a thinner line which makes me think the c could be a b.

Yes I think you're probably right Potty. I've tried googling for a maker and can only come up with Richard Batterham who worked at Leach pottery but I don't think I'd be that lucky!! Any other ideas please?

Just seen the mark accompanied by a label. By Ron Bridge, Risby, Bury St Edmunds.

A founder and select member of the Anglian Potters Association. He was known amongst regional fellow potters for his production of superb stoneware tableware and some really excellent distinctive sculptures. He retired from potting in 2006.
