It does have the look of Leach Pottery.

Can't tell for sure because the mark is so obscure, but see if you can turn up a picture of the early mark for Alex and Warren MacKenzie. They were Americans who apprenticed with Leach at St. Ives. Warren is still active in the US (don't know what happened with Alex). He is always well represented on ebay. If it is their mark, it is well worth while.

Hi, Thanks for the input, the mark does look like it could be some form of M, but it is too hard to tell.
The clay used seems wrong compaired to the other MacKenzie items I found on the net tho.

An image of the mark used by Warren Mackenzie in the UK when he was at Dartington around 1963. At other times when he worked in the UK his mark would appear with the Leach Pottery seal. You will notice that the stoneware is much darker than in your miniature, which is most likely a Leach Pottery one. Alix died in 1962.

Going on the lines suggested , Bill Marshall could be a possibility , he used different coloured clays

Thanks for the ideas guys.
I have just seen this and think it is a rather good match

I don't think we will find out who made it, but seems as SP said most likely a Leach pottery vase.
