Set of 9 tiles on board, Shepherd and his flock, Studio Pottery?
Hi all,
I liked these tiles and ended up buying them, but I know nothing about tiles.
Depicting a stylized Sheppard and his flock.
I don't know if they have any makers mark, as they are stuck firmly to the board. (I dislike the board)
There is some text to the back of the board, but I am unable to understand it.
Thanks for looking,
Potty.
P.S. Anyone else like these or was it just me?

Another question:-
How would you get these off/would you leave them as they are?
Thanks,
Potty.

most people agree that it's a foolhardy venture,I have heard of dealers burning old tiles off bits of wood

Hi Potty!
I can read the first two of those four words on the back:
Décor Montana - so i would say that we have a french origin.
Regards
Micha

this looks to me like a sample from a tile shop

Thanks.
Would you say they are factory made then, rather than studio?

Potty.

Re: Set of 9 tiles on board, Shepherd and his flock, Studio Pottery?
I would think so tho I could be wrong
Re: Set of 9 tiles on board, Shepherd and his flock, Studio Pottery?
The all sentence is "Décor Moutons fond Vison" - Sheep decor with mink colour (grey/beige) background.
About burning the board, as Dan suggested, please be careful because the glaze can crack, and also as the tiles are porous they can absorb the smoke and become black.
Good luck!

Thanks all, I will leave them as they are for now, will maybe trim the board and mount that.
One day may want to use them in the kitchen.

Potty.
