Alan Gaff & Hugh Mactavish, Argyll Pottery
Hi all,
This vase stands at just over 2 1/2 inches high and is made from stoneware, it is well potted, does anyone have an idea who may have made it please?
Thanks,
Potty.

Sorry Potty I can't be of much help but it appears to be wood-fired and the decoration is very good. It doesn't look like any specific style that I am familiar with but it may be Japanese.

No marks unfortunately.
The decoration I really like, simple but well executed. The potting is quite fine too.
Thanks for the info SP, "every little helps" as it were.

Having seen a similar items that was marked, I'm not thinking this is made by Argyll Pottery.
I've seen some of their others pots before and the quality seems to be very good.

It has a Mexico/Puablo/American Indian feel to me.

Any idea of potter please.
I have managed to find a few Argyll pieces online, but sadly not with mark on my piece.
An attractive bowl, possibly wood fired? A lovely brushed decoration in the bowl. Size is approximately 6" in diameter.

It's Alan Gaff's personal mark. He set up Argyll Pottery in 1988, and since his death it has been run by his assistant Hugh Mactavish
