Bitossi ?
Anybody else think this is Bitossi , impressed design ( fish on one side and geometric on t'other ) 3.5" High no base marks

not sure about that Ed - what is the rim at the top like please? is it smooth and finished neatly? The pieces I have had (and still own a couple) look less rustic than this. Even a lamp base I had was a bit more refined somehow. But that could just be looking at photographs which tend to highlight and don't always show the detail that well. Having said all that I do think it is quite difficult to absolutely determine Bitossi pieces.

I too had my doubts for the same reason as flying free, but did not reply as Italian pottery is not something i know much about. If it is Bitossi, it seems to be of poorer quality than the others I've seen to be honest.

I agree , it doesnt come up to the standard of the pieces I have posted in that thread , the inside is quite well done , the outer is a bit like the grog style of german carstens pieces .

The colour looks right for Bitossi, and the grogged filled clay. Plus some Bitossi pieces have this sort of sgraffito decoration. So I'd say Bitossi.
