Rewiring a lamp - help needed
Hi all
Hoping someone on this forum might know the solution to a problem I'm having rewiring a large Jasba Keramik lamp I have. It's a fat lava lamp with a bulb fitting above and below. I can't work out how to separate the fitting inside the lamp so I can rewire each bulb fitting. Has anybody got any ideas how to do this?
Thanks

Re: Rewiring a lamp - help needed
I rewired one last year, i'm just trying to remember how it all fitted together. I think there was a brass section that runs top to bottom with the bayonet fixing at each end. If I remember it was a bit tricky and would recommend taking a picture or doing a sketch of the wiring configuration before you strip it completely. Sorry I can't be more help, memories not so good

Re: Rewiring a lamp - help needed
Hello, sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I was wondering how this turned out? I was thinking of doing the same with a lamp I recently bought. It isn't West German fat lava but a Vallauris French model that sounds very similar to the one described here - ie, bayonet socket (Bakelite?) at the top of the lamp and another (brass) bayonet in the base.
I was just going to change the plug, but the cord is rather short, and there's no switch. The top socket appears to be in OK condition, if a bit dusty but the bottom one looks a wee bit rusty. Seems like it would be best to just rewire the whole thing.

So I finally got round to it. Only took me two years.
