Majolica style bottle jug - Italian signature? Empty Majolica style bottle jug - Italian signature?

This is a really pretty jug vase, thick majolica type glaze, signature seems to end in an I so may be Italian. Any ideas please?

seems to end with the letters ute and with an accent over the e which suggests a French word to me....

ah, now I saw that as a dot on the last i...

Is that style very French though? I would say not?
