Orange Glazed Striped Studio pot with pouring lip
Hi All,
This one has me without a clue, I thought might have been scandanavian, then I saw the mark was identical to a newcomb college Edith emily hebbencourt Hibbart example I hasd seen, but only in terms of the letters, none of the other newcomb traditional marks are present. The thing is there is no wear marks at all on the base (if it was old enough for newcomb), but i cannot imagine its a fake as it would then have been artifically aged, so I assume it must be another maker, could anybody shed any light or suggest possible potters? It is a shallow pot with a puring spout so is quite unusual as its use would surely be limited by not holding much liquid, yet stil having a spout. the glaze is lovely.
