Earthenware Jug
I bought this earthenware jug, which is 9.5 inches tall, as it was attractive and only £2 (it was £3 with the plastic flowers that it contained but I let the seller keep them and he reduced the price).
No mark and probably made in the last 10 years or so. The combing on the handle is distinctive. Any ideas?

Re: Earthenware Jug
I believe its by Richard Phethean, although the pieces on his site are not like this now, there are some of his pieces with the same combing pictured in 'The Practical Potter' by Josie Warshaw and there is a teapot with the same glaze on Oakwoodceramics site.

Re: Earthenware Jug
Thanks for that gentlemen. It is probably from the late 1980s/1990s when he potted over Peckham/Dulwich way not far from where I found it.
I saw David from Oakwood Ceramics on Wednesday and if I had known this then I could have taken it along and maybe even doubled my money! No matter it pours very well and I'll continue to use it.
