Ceramic or metal? Empty Ceramic or metal?

Post by Nik February 27th 2012, 9:54 pm

This may sound odd, but I am struggling to tell if this object is ceramic or some kind of enamelled non-ferric metal. 18.5 x 15.5 cm it weighs in at a hefty 530g. The only mark I can see appears to be is "17" stamped on the rear (top of third image).

Ceramic or metal? Empty Re: Ceramic or metal?

Sorry, I should have explained. I was wondering if it is enamelled (or similar) with the metal core, exposed in areas as part of the decoration.

Anyway... I've now tried a multimeter and a metal detector without response, so I'll go with ceramic too!

Hitting it had crossed my mind, it's not a keeper!
