Kevin Walker (Fortcustard Pottery)
Hi All,
I am new to this lovely forum and I wanted to share with you some of the pottery work by my father, who works out of his shed in South West Uk-
He has been making and decorating pots since the 80s, and I just hoped you might appreciate seeing some of his work- as they rarely see's the light of day!
I hope it is ok to post this here, and I hope you enjoy a (small!) selection of his work,
Best Wishes
Chris

Re: Kevin Walker (Fortcustard Pottery)
Thanks very much for the kind responses- I will be sure to pass them on!
Brin- Thanks! I am working on cataloguing all of his pottery on the site www.fortcustardpottery.co.uk - it is still a work in progress, and still a way to go yet!
If you are interested in buying any of the pieces- best to send an email via the contact page. I hope this helps!
Skay- Thanks so much for the kind welcome- my father's name is Kevin Walker
Diane- Thanks very much indeed, I will certainly pass that on!
I will update the thread with more of the pots as I can get round to it- there are some lovely ones to come!
Thanks again everyone,
Chris

Re: Kevin Walker (Fortcustard Pottery)
has Kevin been a big success in the past then decided to retire to the shed?
The quality suggests to me he has at one time been a very successful potter with lots of orders....

Re: Kevin Walker (Fortcustard Pottery)
Being a "brown pot man" myself they look wonderful and are reminiscent of some of the pots made at Brannam at the end of the 19th century.
Perhaps even more wonderful though is the name of the pottery

Re: Kevin Walker (Fortcustard Pottery)
Thanks everyone for your replies,
Dantheman- Kev has never really marketed himself to sell on a large scale- He is bit of a recluse, and has always been too modest to really promote his own work!
He was well collected back in the 90s, but it was always a case of collectors tracking him down and almost forcing him to sell!
But he has now decided he is happy to let a few pots go again, as they are starting to overflow in the house and shed- and that is one of the reasons for the website really- to act as a catalogue all of the pieces he has made, but also so they can be enjoyed by everyone!
Studio-pots & Big Ed: Thanks very much indeed!
Lastly, I would love to update this thread with photos of Kev's work here on the Forum, if thats ok?
Thanks again All,
Chris
PS. Kev can be contacted at kevin@fortcustardpottery.co.uk with any questions I can't answer!

Re: Kevin Walker (Fortcustard Pottery)
I have hundreds of lovely pots so I have most in storage at some point, when I stop admiring the ones on display they go into boxes and the stored ones replace them

Don't we all. Thats the trouble with being a collector - we don't worry about space when we see something we like.

Re: Kevin Walker (Fortcustard Pottery)
Don't know how I missed this update.
Love the new images
It's not just the designs and additions to the outside of the pots I like, but also the varied pot shapes themselves. I'm constantly amazed with each new batch - even the ones which aren't to my colour pallet, I still really enjoy and admire.
Such a breath of fresh air.

Re: Kevin Walker (Fortcustard Pottery)
This one has been shown (just), on page 2, the table of pots fresh out the kiln, look at the right of the table. But here is a better look.
I do like all kinds of 'serpents' and dragons.

Re: Kevin Walker (Fortcustard Pottery)
Here is a bump for all the new members who missed this thread ( the last update was 4 years ago)
I never see these pots on ebay or at auction so can only assume that the owners keep hold of them
I have no plans to sell mine.
