CHARGER WITH MYTHICAL BEAST--HELP ID PLEASE
Recently got this large plate with a squeeze-bag slip decoration of a mythological bull-like creature and mystical symbols around the rim. There is also an abstract bird-like form and sun. The creature seems part man and part animal with a human-like rear leg and foot; forelegs with hooves (?) and apparently forearms and hands. The style of the rendering seems vaguely familiar but I can't place it. The plate is 14 inches in diameter and wheel thrown. Overall, the piece seems very well done. The piece is signed but I can't make out the signature. It also has a chop mark and some incised numbers that may be 4/165. I am including a picture of the base with the brightness/contrast adjusted to make it easier to see. Any help with ID would be appreciated.

Re: CHARGER WITH MYTHICAL BEAST--HELP ID PLEASE
I recently sold a piece of pottery with a similar beast on it. I got it as a Viking Dragon, they dont resemble the traditional Dragons we all know. It was from an Orkney pottery. Hope this helps more than my previous reply.
The AB was something I have seen and from an angle it looked like the stamp Alan Brough uses but I think that can be ignored, sorry
