Tall marked jug - signature and FRANCE Empty Tall marked jug - signature and FRANCE

Hi - bought this nice jug - tall - about 26cm... it's marked FRANCE and a stamped signature that I can't make out. Perhaps someone here recognises it?

this probably wont help at all, but i think i've seen this mark on a french cognac or calvados bottle. "C" something.. ???
