Huge Vibi Torino vase - any idea on date?
Don't know much about this factory. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

Vi.Bi Torino (Italy)
Vi.Bi. was founded by Giuseppe Vallini (1925-1974) who wanted to produce, buy and sell artistic ceramics.
It started in Torino (Turin), 1952 and it was closed in 1972.

Great vase!
VI.BI was a factory located in Torino city with a mission in "modern style".
Founded in 1952 is notable for his free form and later for figurine ( epigone of Lenci style)
Closed in 1972

Re: Vi.Bi Torino (Italy)
Hi, that's a lovely ashtray.
Can you tell me if there are any books about Vi.Bi, Lusso, or Ariele production, in Torino?
Many thanks,
Rita

Great sculptural vase with iridescent black and white glazes, 36 cm high.
According to >> this site "VI.BI." Torino as well, and designed by Mario Mesini.

Re: Vi.Bi Torino (Italy)
Hi Michael,
Mario Mesini designed for several companies, the information on that site is not entirely wrong but is a bit misleading. Most of the pieces there are designed by him for Ariele (a Turin company founded by himself), except the one with the blue background that is Vi.Bi. The picture on the bottom is from an Ariele showroom, not Vi.Bi.
Take a look here:

Thanks again, Rita -- great info!!
So Mario Mesini, but for Ariele...
Anyway, I love his designs, the will to be modern is so strong in them ;-)

Re: Vi.Bi Torino (Italy)
Yes, Mario Mesini has great designs most of them are incredibly dynamic and sometimes delightfully absurd. I'm always astonished by the way they're made and also by the fact they resisted time.
Re: Vi.Bi Torino (Italy)
That is absolutely true -- I have seen a few (not many, so rather scarce, at least here) of these pieces during the last couple of years, and almost all had some severe damage; the material itself seems to be quite fragile, apart from all those thin protusions...

Re: Vi.Bi Torino (Italy)
Hi! Does anyone here have any information/appraisal/date for this blue & green ashtray I have? It has 'VIBI TORINO MADE IN ITALY 556' on the bottom.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I just noticed I gave some wrong information here. Where I said Ariele I should have said LUSSO
