Arts and Crafts Shape Pot, any help?

I've had this beautiful piece for years but have always been puzzled by the unfinished foot of such a beautiful form and glaze application. This form seems to be very Arts and Crafts period but the clay body is very light and I think that it's low fired (like terra cotta). Can anyone help in identifying? Every time I look at the bottom I want to see a Chinese or Asian character that might be a clue........[img][/img][img][/img][img][/img]
