Cameo Auctions goes bust Empty Cameo Auctions goes bust

I don't know if it's appropriate to post this here, but just a note to say that Cameo Fine Art Auctioneers, Midgham, W. Berkshire (on the A4 between Thatcham and Reading) has filed for bankruptcy, leaving a number of sellers unpaid.

I believe the owner, John King, has appeared on Dickinson's Real Deal in the past. (Can't stand that programme - I once met a dealer at Winchester antiques fair, who had paid way over the odds on a 19thC race horse game after Dickinson stepped in and made her double her offer, and was trying to get her money back on it).

I read that they have been investigated for taking money from old customers using their visa details and the-saleroom stopped dealing with them after several complaints from unhappy sellers

There's another one nearby at New Greenham Common, Newbury, so a lot of competition
http://www.specialauctionservices.com/ (Thomas Plant is one of their valuers).
Looking through their online catalogue there's an awful lot of crap with high auction estimates.
