Crazy 1950s lamp base
Another one of my unidentified ceramics:
Small but quite spectacularly shaped 1950s 3-legged lamp base, hight appr. 15 cm (excl. fixture).
Rough white glaze with black and yellow stripes, plus some glossy red areas.
The base has a mark I would read as the Roman numerals " V II " (but could be some initials as well).
Italian? German? ...?
Thanks,
Michael

Thanks folks!
So probably Italian, unknown maker...
Thanks for pointing me at the fact that it is a stylized rooster -- hadn't realized that...
While searching for Italian ceramics I came across an advertisment for the forthcoming King's Lynn exhibition -- I have a vase very similar to the range depicted there. So looking forward to find out the maker of at least one of my Italian pieces when the book by Mark Hill is published!
