Signature looks like John Maltby's, but pot doesn't
Hi. I bought this pot because I thought the signature looked like John Maltby's, and indeed when I got it home and referred to the book, it does look quite like his. However the vase itself looks totally unlike anything I have ever seen by Maltby. But I do know that he did much more conventional stuff early on in his career than the sculptural pieces he does nowadays. Could he ever have made anything quite so - er - bland as this? The vase is about 19 cms tall and made of red earthenware.
Any ideas or advice would be most welcome.

I don't know how you do it, Naomi! It's like playing snap with the cards being put down 9 years apart.
By the way, the pot is still in my attic just in case you succeed in identifying it in the next 9 years.
