Multicolour fish dish
One more fishy piece: fish-shaped dish, 30 cm long, mottled black and dark blue glaze, with multicolour pattern.
Base unmarked.
Once more from Italy?
Thanks!

Thanks!
If not San Marino -- is it Italian at all?
Or would Hungary be another option? (I own several pieces which I would have attributed to Italy without much doubt, if they didn't have a label in Hungarian :))

Re: Multicolour fish dish
If no mark at all , it's difficult with these pieces , suffice to say italian tourist ware is generally just signed Italy , so could be anywhere really ,,Italy is just popular with a lot of folks these days in suggesting .

Because it's a fish
Or Japanese because of the colour scheme.
Or Spanish, because, well just because.
Re: Multicolour fish dish
Ok, I'm back to saying Italy - after spotting this one on ebay, listed as: Lovely Stylish Vintage Retro Kitsch Small Slipware Vase 1950s Italy ?
(I know it's not been positively identified either, but it's got that look to it).

Re: Multicolour fish dish
I don't think the vase on ebay is anything like this dish?
Not sure where this dish is from, but I would guess Italy.
Tho bits about it don't seem "right" as such to me.
But I doubt it's from Norway or Japan

Re: Multicolour fish dish
Thanks all!
The vase on ebay has some similarities, but mine has the glossy black and blue glaze all over...
Here is a pic of a dish made in Hungary, just to add to the confusion ;-)

Re: Multicolour fish dish
Thanks Naomi (but I guess you really shouldn't have done that ;-))
Decoration does look very similar, I just wanted to point out that my fish has a glossy glaze all over, not a matte black background like the ebay vase...
Unfortunately even if it is the same maker, it doesn't help much in attribution...
