Studio Bowl with unusual seal - any ideas?

I found this piece this morning. Any ideas on who made it would be gratefully received.

Looks Chinese or Japanese, probably Japanese.

If it's about the size of a cereal bowl, then it's a rice bowl.

I thought Japanese. But wasn't sure. Thought the seal was very unusual. No idea if it's even the right way up!

If the seal was the other way up the bottom two characters (top two in your photograph) probably transalate as "Japan"

I expect then the top two probably translate into 'made in...'

I was thinking it may be 'IKEA'..............................
