Newbie with a query
Hi, I'm new to your group and I've been trawling t'internet trying to find out a little more about a couple of pretty vases I bought. I get various responses regarding the "foreign" mark...some relating to an American act in the late 1800's and others stating it's due to a British Act. This forum seems to be fairly knowledgeable and most of all appears quite friendly, so I was hoping someone might be able to tell me about my little find.
They're 10cm high and 8 cm wide. Burgundy, cream and gold in colour and stamped on base as Foreign 612/10
I would love for them to be early C20th they'd be in keeping with my collection of mantle clocks (sad I know)
Thanks in advance for any advice or help provided.

Re: Newbie with a query
My bet would be that they are German. The "Foreign" mark was used just prior to the beginning of using East & West Germany as a mark. That would put these in the 1940's-1950's age area.
612 is the form or shape number and 10 is the height in CM.
Also, looking at the design shape and finish of the one in the linked photo, I stick with my opinion that the one in the photo is German.

Re: Newbie with a query
The lettering or numbering style suggests it might be Ilkra keramik , but soendgen had a similar numbering.

Many thanks for all your help, I thought I had posted a pic of the vase. I'm not too technically minded at that time of night :)
