Cow jug - rustic French pottery? Empty Cow jug - rustic French pottery?

Bought this a couple of weeks ago from an elderly lady having a clear out, so I think it's probably 70s-80s. Gut instinct - partly because of the marbling on the base, and partly the shape which doesn't say 'English' to me - is it's French farmhouse pottery.
No mark.
