Santa Monica Pottery Spain

Here is a very large ceramic abstract bird over 14" high (approx) in a deep brown on a perspex base - labelled to bottom, the piece has come away from perpex (needs glued) and has white marks 'Santa Monica' to base and letter M incised - I cant seem to get much from google re this pottery so any info welcomed also date which looks 60s/70s - also what do people think about the base, does it go with the ceramic or is it a later edition?
