Re: Spiral mark - Gordon Menzies, Iona Pottery
Another one has turned up on ebay, attributed to Gordon Menzies, Iona Pottery. Haven't been able to confirm that. I have an Iona Pottery bowl which is stamped Iona Pottery, but maybe he used more than one mark?

There is a mark in BSPM for Gordon Menzies that looks like this mark from the time that he was potting in Edinburgh (1974 to 1976) i.e. pre Iona Pottery.
I am not familiar with his work so can't say whether it is by him or not.

Stoneware Fluted Neck Vase. Swirl Mark - Gordon Menzies, Iona Pottery
14cms tall. Nice shape to this vase, but having trouble with the mark. I thought it was a dot in the middle of a circle, but now on my photo looks more like a swirl.
So many of this type of mark, can anyone help.

Gordon Menzies early Iona mark and Mike Labrum both had spiral marks.

Either Gordon Menzies of Iona Pottery or Mike Labrum of Spiral Pottery. Both used a spiral mark and similar style of pottery

I think it's definately Gordon Menzies (Iona Pottery) looking at style and other examples - and he tends to sign at the side rather than underneath like M Labrum..
Many many thanks
