Re: Mtarfa glass (Malta)
Mtarfa Glass was founded by Paul Said , his brother Joseph was the owner of Mdina Glass , hence the similarities , I wouldn't think they are rare or particularly valuable though , but only imo.

Re: Mtarfa glass (Malta)
I think this could be Kerry Glass from Ireland, which was set up by Michael Harris. The HA on the sticker is Hand Made not Harris. As far as I know there were no labels with his name on either at Mdina or Isle of Wight.

Re: Mtarfa glass (Malta)
Well spotted. That lemon squeezer like base and colours are fine for an early bit of Mtarfa. The shape of the neck and rim are very 'Maltese', date would likely be early eighties.

Re: Mtarfa glass (Malta)
Do you think the paper label would be a retailers label, Mtarfa labels are usually round, thats what set me off in the wrong direction

Re: Mtarfa glass (Malta)
Labels are sometimes redesigned. Also, one retail outlet in Valetta used to stick their own labels on the glass they bought in.

Re: Mtarfa glass (Malta)
There is a Mtarfa vase on ebay at present, it has a retangular paper label with rounded corners, just like this one....

Re: Mtarfa glass (Malta)
Looks like it could possibly be early Mtarfa, before the irridescent stuff and still influenced by Mdina. I have a similar coloured piece that was ID'd as Mtarfa.

Re: Mtarfa glass (Malta)
There are a couple with the same shape on ebay at the moment, listed as: "Vintage Signed Mtarfa Glassblowers Malta Mottled Vase" and "Mtarfa Blue Green Art Glass Vase, Signed". The latter has a label.
Re: Mtarfa glass (Malta)
I agree 100% Mtarfa
