Small studio pot marked EW?

Small studio pot marked EW? Empty Small studio pot marked EW?

I am thinking that this mark reads EW but to be honest I am not sure which way up it should be. From some angles both marks appear to be the same although facing different directions, possibly both M. Any thoughts or suggestions for ID appreciated, John
