Can't find these marks - Can you help?
Anyone have any idea who made this plate? Mark is either a J C or C J with a 75.' there are 6 green dots in total. 5 off center and 1 to the side. The initials are painted in gold.

It's a gorgeous plate. I suspect someone's bought a load of blanks and decorated them for a special commission - that was not uncommon in the mid - late 19th Century.

To add, the floral pattern is similar to ceramics from Deruta, Italy.
Not sure if they ever gilded their stuff, though, and it's usually a tin-glazed earthenware, whereas yours looks like porcelain from the photos.

Thanks for the reply! I can see the similarity of the pattern and that of the Deruta patterns. It is a gorgeous design you are right, I like the idea of it being a 'commission' plate
I'll do a bit of searching to see if it is a Deruta plate now...fingers crossed!
