Re: The Leach Pottery. St Ives
It will have a name and is probably creamy oatmeal with rust trim. They are terms that the Leach Pottery used. I've not just made them up.

Oh.. another standard ware milk jug 4.5 in high boot find.
An almost unreadable tiny mark, but the "ENGLAND" was, as ususal the giveaway.

Bill Marshall porcelain yunomi. Made at the Leach Pottery probably mid to late 1960s.
Interestingly, Bill has incised his personal mark and Leach Pottery mark on the base.

Thank you! I'm ecstatic.NaomiM wrote:Nice dish :)
Also these:
Kenneth Quick
William Marshall (the mark is easier to see in 'real life')
I hate to feel like I'm bragging...but I have to show someone, and no one in my immediate vicinity has any clue why I'm so excited about these pieces. Thanks for looking! Woohoo!

Re: The Leach Pottery. St Ives
You've done well. The Bernard Leach dish looks especially fine.

Leach Standard Ware
Small pot with a green interior and Leach stamp. There is no other id stamp or mark. It's roughly about 10cm across the lid. Is it likely to be from a standard ware range?

Re: The Leach Pottery. St Ives
A bit about the recent Japanese potters exhibition at Leach Pottery St Ives. Includes mention of firing up the old soda kiln at the pottery. I think there was discussion a while back about a soda glazed vase with a Janet Leach stamp; this may clear up some of the confusion

Re: The Leach Pottery. St Ives
I don't think so. It looks like the same glaze recipie as that used in the 70s by David Leach and Colin Pearson at The Friars Aylesford Pottery, and by John Leach at Muchelney Pottery. It had a habit of breaking like that.

Re: The Leach Pottery. St Ives
Here's a Jason Wason vase that's about 20cm tall.
I think Jason was at Leach between 1976 and 1981.

Leach Christening Mug/Tankard
Very nice Leach celadon small mug with a name across the front. Possibly by David Leach. Question! Is it a child's Christening Mug/Tankard?
