Re: Toni Raymond & Babbacombe Pottery
Best to keep an eye on completed listings on eBay. That's where I always search for these types of items.

Re: Toni Raymond & Babbacombe Pottery
I think it's one of the Torquay potteries. Just a shape/pattern number.

There is not much info on Babbacombe pottery itself.

Re: Toni Raymond & Babbacombe Pottery
Thanks and you're right about that but I found the names Edwin Barrett and Peter Priddoe and saw the same shape without this swirling pattern. This is way more than I knew in the first place and thanks for your help to get me this far.

Re: Toni Raymond & Babbacombe Pottery
Some salient info from a 2000 magazine article I had stashed away.
The Toni Raymond pottery was established in 1951 by Raymond Smith, initially making
models of snow geese, mallards and seagulls from Barbola, which doesn't
require firing, and later miniature heads.
Geoff Hiscock and wife Barbara from Manchester formed a buisness
partnership around 1954.
Other early products were ceramic earrings and bracelets, and with the
success of these they were able to purchase a kiln.
In the early 50s it had only 2 employees, Leo Scragg, and Sam Dale, a
potteries-trained mould maker, but by the 1960s and early 70s it
employed around 80 people at 3 different sites:
Torbay, Bath lane.
Babbacombe pottery (purchased in 1967).
Wellhouse pottery.

The pottery was sold in 1977/8, and some years later was bought by Ray's son Philip Laureston.

I'm guessing the Terracotta vases in this thread were made well before it was bought by the Toni Raymond pottery in 1967.

Re: Toni Raymond & Babbacombe Pottery
Thanks, I think you're right. I didn't realise they had "Torquay" in the mark.
From the Torquay Pottery Collecters website I'd imagine this was from c.1962.
