Re: id help earthenware dome shape vase signed
My first thought was Mike Powers, Nottingham, but it might not be the right clay.

The decoration also has an Aldermaston style.
It's definitely a thing!

A string dispenser is my guess.

This is Terracotta, so not Mile Powers. A string dispenser is a good suggestion.

Happy new year to you all :), is not a door knob or a string dispenser lol, it is a terracotta vase made in shape of a dome... my guess is, that little hole at the base is to allow some air in, i will take the measurement of this vase in a bit

How can it be a vase, when it can't hold flowers?

Re: id help earthenware dome shape vase signed
Not sure, would expect a string dispencer to have some way to put the string in, same problem with door knob, as seems to way to affix it.
My best guess would be simply an ornament or maybe a paper weight, though I doubt it's heavy enough for the latter?

I doubt it's Japanese. British or possibly Hungarian.
